Conference Center Enhancement
This coming year, we are initiating a fund-raising campaign that to improve the access and expand the outdoor functionality of the Lindcove REC conference center that was built in 2005. The current facility consists of a 90-seat conference room with a kitchen and a demonstration orchard located some distance from the conference center. Campaign goals are to develop the roadways and parking areas to make the Conference Center more accessible for events, create an outdoor eating area, build an outdoor amphitheater to conduct educational programs for children, and develop two citrus demonstration orchards for teaching the citrus industry, master gardeners, and general public. Estimated construction costs are $600,000, with a desire to raise a total of $1.5M to create an endowment to fund an outreach coordinator for the education program.
